About the bakehouse

Free-from baking with a book lounge attached — rooted on High Street in Navenby.

Here’s the rub

Cake that doesn’t apologise for being free-from.

After years of dry supermarket free-from aisles, we set out to bake gluten-free and dairy-free cakes that taste and feel like “regular” cake — soft crumb, proper icing, flavours worth celebrating.

Navenby Rose Bakehouse opened as a small coffee lounge where that baking sits beside secondhand shelves. We don’t serve alcohol; we do serve patience, refills, and a place for dogs under the table.

  • Kitchen first Every loaf and slice is mixed and baked for coeliac and dairy-free guests without cutting corners on texture.
  • Custom cakes Birthdays and anniversaries deserve better than a bashed box from the free-from aisle — ask us to bake yours.
  • Books & company Secondhand stock keeps the lounge feeling lived-in. Buy a paperback with your coffee and stay as long as the table allows.
“Join our free-from cake revolution and see what all the fuss is about.”
